The upgraded "Salle Jaune" laser is routinely delivering an energy of 5 Joules per 25 fs pulse at a repetition-rate of 2 Hz. The energy  can be divided into two beams of equal energy, fully synchronized with several lower energy beams of durations from 30 fs to nanoseconds.

This intense light source is accompanied by three independent and radio-protected experimental areas dedicated to soft x-ray laser (mainly OFI Scheme), electron acceleration and hard X-ray imaging.
