D2AM - a French CRG at ESRF - is a beamline dedicated to structural investigations using anomalous scattering in materials science, with two instruments: a Kappa diffractometer and a Small Angle X-ray Scattering bench. Structural studies near absorption edges are widely used to create an anomalous contrast between atoms and to study short or long range order.
In order to achieve an easily adjustable wavelength near absorption edges between 5,5 and 35 keV, at a fixed point focus position, a symmetrical optics has been designed, installed at the output of a bending magnet. The optics consists of a two crystal monochromator with sagittal focusing (mainly Si(111) but Si(311) is also available) located between two cylindrically bent mirrors in a compact arrangement, with double focusing (3:1).
