FinEstBeAMS

FinEstBeAMS at the MAX IV 1.5 GeV storage ring is a material- and atmospheric science beamline dedicated to provide high quality radiation with precisely controlled and widely variable parameters for a broad range of research. FinEstBeAMS recieved the first light in November 2017. Beamline has two branch lines – one for ultra-high vacuum (UHV) surfaces and interface studies, and the other for high-pressure volatile materials experiments and photoluminescence studies.

Due to its wide energy range, high flux and good resolving power, FinEstBeAMS is an optimal experimental set-up to investigate the electronic structure of free atoms, molecules, clusters and atmospheric particles in a gas phase and on surfaces.

Funding for the basic equipment and instrumentation, materials, and staff during the construction phase was provided by an Estonian and Finnish consortium, supported by the EU through the European Regional Development Fund and the Academy of Finland. Beamline is opened for all users.
